Notice is hereby given that Phillip Jennings has filed with the Vermillion County Board of Zoning Appeals Petition 2026-04 for a Special Exception to place open a permanent Recreational Vehicle Park and Petition 2026-08 for a Variance in the setback requirements from 25 feet to 15 feet setback from the side yard property line on the following real estate located for real estate located in Eugene Township, Vermillion County, Indiana, commonly known as 3144 N State Road 63, Cayuga, IN 47928
Parcel # 83-06-09-300-010.000-005 and further described as:
Commencing at a point 80 rods north of the southeast corner of the southwest quarter of Section 9, Township 17 North, Range 9 West, thence south 23 degrees west 44 rods to the center of Newport and Eugene Road, thence north 43 degrees west along the center of said road 12 rods, thence north 23 degrees east 40.74 rods, thence southeasterly to the place of beginning, containing 3.3 acres more or less, also commencing at the center of the public highway at the southwest corner of the above described tract and running thence north 23 degrees east 26 rods, thence north 43 degrees west 1 rod, thence south 35 ¾ degrees west 25 rods and 10 links to the center of said road thence along the center of said road 7 rods to the place of beginning containing 5/8th of an acre more or less and, in all the foregoing four(4) acres more or less, subject to the grant to Indiana State Highway Dept.
Subject to all rights-of way, easement and restrictions of record.
The Board of Zoning Appeals will conduct public hearings on these petitions in the Commissioner's Courtroom, second floor of the Vermillion County Courthouse, Newport, Indiana, on the 11th day of June 2026, immediately following the 6:00 PM Area Plan Commission meeting.
Interested parties may voice an opinion at the public hearing and/or file written comments beforehand in the Zoning Office, second floor of the courthouse in Newport for consideration regarding the petition. No person, firm, corporation, public employee or body politic shall contact any member of the Board of Zoning Appeals orally, or in writing, in advance of a public hearing on a case pending for a decision. Any person, firm, corporation, public employee or body politic may appear in person, by agent or by attorney at the public hearing and submit evidence or present testimony germane to the issue in controversy where the opposing party is permitted to present rebuttal evidence and testimony. A copy of the proposal may be examined in the Zoning Office between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. The hearing may be continued from time to time as may be found necessary.
