NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TO TAXPAYERS OF THE LOST CREEK-NEVINS FIRE
PROTECTION DISTRICT
OF VIGO COUNTY, INDIANA
Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the Lost Creek-Nevins Fire Protection District of Vigo County, Indiana (the ''Fire Protection District") that the Board of Trustees of the Fire Protection District will meet at the Seelyville Volunteer Fire Department, 2271 N. Main Street, Terre Haute, IN 47803, at 6:00 p.m on July 16th, 2026 for the following purpose:
To discuss incurring indebtedness of up to Five Hundred Fifty Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($550,000.00) for the purchase of firefighting equipment, pursuant to the provisions of Ind. Code Sec. 36-8-11.
Taxpayers appearing at such hearing shall have the right to be heard thereon. A determination as to whether or not to borrow funds and as to the maximum amount of the loan, if a decision to borrow is made, will be made at this hearing.
Within thirty (30) days after any determination to incur indebtedness is made by the Board of Trustees of the Fire Protection District, a Notice of Determination will be published pursuant to statute.
Upon publication of the Notice of Determination, ten (10) or more taxpayer§ in Fire Protection District may file a petition with the County Auditor not later than Noon, thirty (30) days after the publication of the Notice of Determination, setting forth their objections and the reasons why the taxpayers believe incurrence of indebtedness to be
unnecessary or unwise.
