Change in Zoning
Notice is hereby given that Phillip Jennings has filed with the Vermillion County Area Plan Commission Petition 2026-07 for a Change in Zoning from RR-Rural Residential to PR-Parks & Recreation to open a permanent RV Park on the following real estate located in Eugene Township, Vermillion County, Indiana, commonly known as 3144 N State Road 63, Cayuga, IN 47928
Parcel # 83-06-09-300-010.000-005 and further described as:
Commencing at a point 80 rods north of the southeast corner of the southwest quarter of Section 9, Township 17 North, Range 9 West, thence south 23 degrees west 44 rods to the center of Newport and Eugene Road, thence north 43 degrees west along the center of said road 12 rods, thence north 23 degrees east 40.74 rods, thence southeasterly to the place of beginning, containing 3.3 acres more or less, also commencing at the center of the public highway at the southwest corner of the above described tract and running thence north 23 degrees east 26 rods, thence north 43 degrees west 1 rod, thence south 35 ¾ degrees west 25 rods and 10 links to the center of said road thence along the center of said road 7 rods to the place of beginning containing 5/8th of an acre more or less and, in all the foregoing four (4) acres more or less, subject to the grant to Indiana State Highway Dept.
Subject to all rights-of way, easement and restrictions of record.

The Vermillion County Area Plan Commission will conduct a public hearing on this petition at 6:00 P.M. in the Commissioner's Courtroom, second floor of the Vermillion County Courthouse, Newport, Indiana, on the 11th day of June 2026. The Petition will then be forwarded to the Vermillion County Commissioners for action at their July 2nd meeting beginning at 6:00p.m. in the Commissioner's Courtroom, second floor of the Vermillion County Courthouse, Newport, Indiana.

The members of the Area Plan Commission have unanimously adopted a policy of limited communication. No person, firm, corporation, public employee or political body shall contact any member of the Area Plan Commission, or in writing, in advance of a public hearing on a case then pending for a decision by such Commission. Any person, firm, corporation, public employee or political body may appear in person, by agent or by attorney at the public hearing and submit evidence or present testimony germane to the issue in controversy where the opposing party is permitted to present rebuttal evidence and testimony.

Interested parties may voice an opinion at the above meetings and/or file written comments beforehand with the Area Plan Commission, P O Box 314, Newport, Indiana 47966. A copy of the proposal may be examined in the Zoning Office, on the second floor of the Courthouse in Newport. Everyone entering the Courthouse will be screened by security, only the west entrance is open to the public. Please call 765-492-5343 further information. The foregoing appropriation is in addition to all appropriations provided for in the existing budget and tax levy, and a need for such appropriation exists by reason of the inadequacy of the present buildings to provide necessary school facilities in the School Corporation.
