Any such person or corporation is further notified that with respect to each of the above listed parcels of real estate for which the order is not complied with, that in accordance with the power granted by the
UNSAFE BUILDING LAW (IC 36-7-9-1 thru 36-7-9-28) a hearing on the matter will be held by the Director of the Department of Redevelopment or his Representative at 9:00 A.M. On 4/23/2026 in the Board of Works Conference Room, City Hall, Terre Haute, IN 47807 for the purpose of hearing reasons why the building(s) on the parcel of real estate should not be brought into compliance and it will also be determined at this hearing if the property qualifies for acquisition under the provisions of the Eminent Domain Program for Substandard Structures. Such persons or corporations have the right to appear at the hearing with or without legal counsel and present evidence, cross-examine opposing witnesses and make argument. the order has not been complied with: (1) supply full information regarding the order to any person who
may take or agree to take a substantial property interest; and (2) supply in writing to the Engineering Department within five (5) calendar days after there is any transfer or agreement to transfer a substantial property interest in the unsafe building(s): (A) the full name, address, and telephone number of the person taking a substantial property interest in the unsafe premises, and (B) a true and accurate copy of the legal instrument under which the transfer or agreement to transfer the substantial property interest has been accomplished.

may take or agree to take a substantial property interest; and (2) supply in writing to the Engineering Department within five (5) calendar days after there is any transfer or agreement to transfer a substantial property interest in the unsafe building(s): (A) the full name, address, and telephone number of the person taking a substantial property interest in the unsafe premises, and (B) a true and accurate copy of the legal instrument under which the transfer or agreement to transfer the substantial property interest has been accomplished.
Any individual who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a public meeting, program, service, or activity of the City of Terre Haute, should contact the City of Terre Haute Human Relations Office at (812) 244-5611, as soon as possible, but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.
